Hookhand is made by SU Studio, a sole proprietorship in Denmark (CVR 46441311, Vesterbrogade 9, 4. th, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark). We are responsible for the personal data described here. Questions go to support@hookhand.com.
In short: we collect what the app needs to make your videos and sell you credits, nothing more. There is no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, and no selling of data.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address and account id | To sign you in with Apple or Google and keep your credits, videos and plans on your account. |
| Purchases | To add the credits you bought, once per purchase. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card. |
| Scripts, descriptions and plans you write | To make your videos and write your plan. |
| Screenshots and product photos you upload, and the pictures, voices and videos made for you | To make your videos. |
| Reports you send about a video | To look into them and act. |
| A DeviceCheck answer from Apple | To give free welcome credits once per device. It does not identify you or your device to us. |
Screen recordings and clips you add to a video are never uploaded. Captions, headlines and extra formats are made on your iPhone.
We process this data because it is needed to provide the app you asked for (the contract between us), and, for the content check and abuse limits, because of our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase: hosting and database, in Frankfurt (EU). Accounts, credits, plans and files.
- Anthropic: Claude writes scripts and plans and checks what goes into each video. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
- fal.ai, running models from Google, ElevenLabs and Kling: makes the pictures, voices and videos from your text and uploads.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, payments, notifications and DeviceCheck.
- Google: Google sign-in.
- Vercel: hosts this website and counts visits without cookies.
Some of these providers process data in the United States. They do so under data processing terms that include the EU standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Before anything you write or upload is sent to these providers, the app asks for your permission.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. Two things stay after that, without any link to you: a record of which App Store purchases were redeemed, so one purchase cannot be redeemed twice, and reports about videos. Purchase records are also kept as long as bookkeeping law requires.
Deleting your account
In the app: tap your account, then Delete account. Your account, plans, uploads and videos are removed from our servers and from your iPhone. Videos you saved to Photos or shared stay where you put them. If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to end Hookhand's access to your Apple ID.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, move or delete your data, and object to or limit how we use it. Write to support@hookhand.com. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk).
Children
Hookhand is not made for children, and the videos it makes may not show anyone under 18.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, we say so in the app before it takes effect.
